Flames Netball Club

Our end of season rally and yet again what a lovely weekend!  Our luck held with the weather which was dry and sunny both days.       

Both our Yr6 teams, Storm and Blizzard, went as did both our Y8 teams, Thunder and Lightening.  Unfortunately not all our Yr7 players could go so we could only enter one team and this was an amalgamation of players from both Yr7 teams.

All teams played really well on the Saturday which resulted in entry to the Cup competition for Storm, the Yr7s, and Thunder.  Lightening and Blizzard also played well against some very tough teams and qualified for the Plate competition.

Sunday dawned and all the teams were raring to go!  Firstly, Thunder had three games to play; one of them being their nemesis Poole!  They played really well and narrowly missed out on qualifying for the quarter-finals by one point on goal difference!

The Yr7s and Storm also played well but like Thunder missed out on reaching the quarter-finals.

Now for our Plate qualifiers Lightening and Blizzard!  Lightening had some tough games but came through to play in the quarter-finals where they met Leamington!   

Yet another tough game which, unfortunately, they lost 2-4 and, therefore, they did not qualify for the semi-finals.

Blizzard, however, did qualify for the semi-finals and played Bromsgrove Thunderbirds.  Both teams played some excellent netball which Bromsgrove eventually won 2-1.
